4 Top Hair Care Tips
A head full of shiny, healthy hair can do wonders for your confidence, and when your hair looks good, you feel good. You know what it’s like if you have to go out when your hair needs a wash, it just feels horrid!
Follow these tips for gorgeous hair and you can keep your just stepped out of a hair salon’ look for longer.
Eat a Healthy Diet
Hair has to be manufactured by your body, so give it a helping hand by making sure that you eat enough of the nutrient rich foods that will help build strong, healthy hair.
Hair consists mostly of protein so it follows that a diet rich in good quality protein will boost its condition. Opt for lean proteins, mixed with healthy whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Make sure that your diet is rich in vitamin C which helps to strengthen your hair, iron, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids.
Wash your Hair only When You Need To
The jury is our on how often you should wash your hair, but it really depends on your hair type. Fine or oily hair can look limp and greasy if not washed every day, but if you have drier, coarser hair you can probably wash every other day or even every two days. Use as good a quality salon shampoo as you can afford, and avoid sulphates or parabens on the ingredients list.
Condition well – but sparingly
When it comes to conditioner, a good rule of thumb is that you should condition your hair every time you shampoo, although be guided by your hair type. Fine or greasy hair can look dull if over-conditioned but very processed or dyed hair will need intensive conditioning on a regular basis. Add a deep conditioning treatment into your routine once a week, whatever your hair type.
Visit us at Michelle Louise Regularly
To keep hair in tip top condition, make sure that you have it trimmed regularly to get rid of any split ends. Even if you’re not having a new style, you’ll notice the difference if you make a date to have a trim at least every six to eight weeks. Not only will this keep split ends under control, but our expert stylists will keep your chosen style looking fresh and well-cared for and it helps to avoid that awful ‘in-between styles’ looks, even if you’re trying to grow your hair out.
