Avocado Dreams!.....

Posted on: Feb 4, 2017

This year rumours of sharp bobs and angled cuts are in, “it’s going to be a real slice!” (10 points if you can guess which movie that quote is from).  Sometimes it can be daunting to go for something that is a real statement piece whether it be clothing, make up or of course hair.  Why not try the ‘Lob’ (long bob) it’s a short snip away from the strong sharp bobs above but isn’t too much of a change that you’ll lose your identity.

This months interesting hue is green – we’ve gone through the trends of unicorn hair, first it was silver then gold now green – perhaps with the change of weather another shade will rise to the top? Lets wait and see.  See our image of Kylie Jenner for an id

……And those of you with long locks, ditch the layers and go for blunt one lengths so you can show off that thick hair of yours.  The positives of that lovely long hair is Hair ups – this season the hair ups are sleek, strong and sexy. Having something as simple as a high pony with swooped bangs can really take your hair to the next level.

But what about those hair flowers – is it time yet? Please say it is, I do so love a flower behind one ear…Perfect for the change of the seasons as we are ready to hit spring, floral clips, clasps and accessories will be back with love.

Colour… This months interesting hue is green – we’ve gone through the trends of unicorn hair, first it was silver then gold now green – perhaps with the change of weather another shade will rise to the top? Lets wait and see.  See our image of Kylie Jenner for an idea!

Now time for some Hair Care… continue reading to discover my hair mask how to.  My hair is 43 inches long and still growing and I like to think its this lovely mask that does the trick!

Princess Rebeccas hair fix Extravaganza….Avocado hair mask:

This mask boosts your hair, give it the “4 S’s”’ Supple, Soft, Strong and Shiny.

Ingredients

  • 1 Avocado (Avocado oil for Softness)
  • 1 Egg (Shine) – for a vegan alternative try 3 Table spoons of Olive oil.
  • 250 mils coconut milk (Strength)
  • 50mls water (suppleness)
  •
  • Tools
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Masher
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 knife
  • 2 spoons
  • 1Whisk
  • Sectioning clips
  • A comb
  • 1 Tint Brush
  • 1 Tint Bowl
  • 1 Bin bag / Plastic poncho, or cape
  • 1 Towel

How to

  • Slice your avocado in half and peel the skin off, remove the nut and slice in to small chunks and place in the large mixing bowl
  • Mash avocado with masher or use hands.
  • Whisk your egg in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Pour the egg into the large mixing bowl with the avocado
  • Pour in as you whisk 250mls of coconut milk slowly pouring a little bit at a time.  You can now add water as desired – some people prefer a thick mask some prefer a thinner one, add water until desired consistency.
  • Tip in to tint bowl and put on a plastic cape or fashion one out of a bin bag to protect clothing.
  • Use a comb to section your hair down the middle then separate the sides in to two sections (one in front of the ear and one behind) use sectioning clips to keep in place.
  • Use your brush to paste the mask making sure all hair is covered, then use a sectioning clip to twist it up into a bun and pin.
  • Place a towel over your hair to keep the warmth in.
  • Leave to soak in under the towel for up to three hours and shampoo off
  • For extra care to your hair allow it to air dry over night before styling or alternatively blow dry with a hair dryer.

Why not send in your snaps of your hair after using my mask?

Well that’s all for now, tune in next month for more hair tips including more on OILS!.......
