Cool blonde, brunette or bronde? Autumnal hair trends 2016

This Autumn is all about cool blondes, brunettes, and the “bronde” middle ground paired with short cuts, 60’s bangs and messy buns.

The term “bronde” is just as it sounds blonde and brown merged together in a gorgeous warm balayage. Pieces of blonde in brown hair or beautiful multitonal blonde hair.

The fun term ‘Sombre’, otherwise known as a softer take on the original ombre, is a prime example of giving a sun kissed look as we head towards long nights and shorter days, because how else will we get that sunny feeling?

So whats new?………..Hair ‘strobing’ is a new technique straight from the heart of L’oreal – the long standing colour go to for all of us at Michelle Louise.  Why not pop in and have a consultation for this new contour-esque technique?

Speaking of L’oreal colour, our rich chocolate browns by L’oreal ‘Inoa’ (oil based colour technology –without those nasty ammonia smells) are always an old favourite, for those that don’t want anything unusual, a chocolate or creamy rich brown over virgin hair can take it to a whole new and gorgeous level to boot!

Another trend hitting the UK industry you may be lucky enough to have witnessed the first time around is now making a slow but steady come back, the ‘pixie cut bob’, shorter bangs and straight fringes much like short cuts reminiscent of the swinging 60’s.  These light weight care free cuts are perfect for an effortless autumn and a great way to stand out in a crowd!

Messy hair is also back! Say hello to lay ins with a get up and go style for those crisp winter days! Rock this look with a bun or pony, my personal favorite – the pulled out fish tail plait.

Deciding on an autumnal change of heart? Auburns are in, some beautiful rich reds are a great way to welcome the season of fall, these stunning colours look amazing twinned with the messy plaits mentioned above.  Aside from just red, pastel colours are still about, remember the lilac and silver hair craze? It seemed everybody was embracing their inner unicorn!

Well how about reliving a little magic this Christmas going for a swift change from silver to sunshine! Rainbow dip dyes are back in fashion.  Blue, green, purple, orange? Why not have a bountiful bonce of beautiful colours!

Well, that’s all for now, come back regularly for more trends, teasers and tips here at the Michelle Louise website or pop by Wandsworth or Balham salons for a consultation or book an appointment.
